A Radiologist works long, hard hours, and they would not be able to keep up with their work load if it weren’t for a radiology assistant.
Radiology assistants are advanced radiology technicians who assists the radiologist in their work. In short, they make the job of the radiologist much easier by taking on many of the mundane tasks that would normally take up their time.

The course work itself requires a number of different kinds of courses involving everything from anatomy to the operation of specific kinds of equipment and basic nursing procedures as well as emergency medical knowledge. It can be quite a challenge to locate and successfully complete one of these programs.
Most locations that would hire an assistant will require that they be certified. There is a certification program available from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists which certifies that the candidate has the knowledge necessary to be employed in the field. It is also required that they be licensed by their individual state, and in order to do so, they have to provide proof of their certification. This makes doubly certain that the individual in question is ready to take their place by the side of the radiologist in providing the very best in medical services to those individuals in need.
While the field is still new, and while there are those radiologists who are still hesitant to work with them, having someone to help them with their duties will relieve radiologists of the need to over-extend themselves and will free them up to make the important decisions regarding strategic cases without having to worry about the more mundane aspects of relatively benign procedures as well.
